foot orthotic for runners with normal to low arches who require
added arch support (control) to reduce excessive pronation.
Shell Specifications - utilizes a 4.0 mm polymer
shell (posted in a neutral position) that never loses shape
or memory.
Posting - extrinsic rear foot post made of (55)
durameter crepe.
Top Cover - provided with a 3/16" cellular cushioning
system and a felt top surface. The cellular cushioning system
has a breathable surface that allows moisture and air to pass
through, providing a cool, dry surface. The cushioning material
is treated with biocide additive that retards the growth of
bacteria and fungus, therefore reducing foot odor. The felt
top surface is in-line bonded to the cellular sponge, and
cannot delaminate.
Therapeutic Benefits - the orthotic shell provides
semi-rigid arch support (fascia support), promoting better
foot alignment. This reduces excessive pronation, and helps
prevent stress, tension and pulling on the plantar fascia.
If left untreated, this motion (when the arch collapses too
much and the foot rotates too far inward) can cause conditions
such as plantar fasciitis, heel spurs, shin splints, metatarsalgia,
bunions, tendinitis as well as knee, hip and lower back pain.
The extrinsic posting helps stabilize the motion of the rear
foot during each stride. The 3/16" cellular cushioning system
provides excellent shock absorption, comfort and protection,
helping to maintain the fat pad on the bottom of the heel.
