Ortho-Dynamics
Orthotics Laboratory was founded in 1988 to design,
engineer and manufacture innovative, affordable, custom
orthotics for foot care professionals. At our inception
we made a commitment to provide high quality foot care products
and unparalleled customer service to back them up. This
combination of quality and service has been the very foundation
of our success. Our growth has far exceeded the overall
growth of the industry.
During the past
decade, we have grown from a regional custom orthotics laboratory,
servicing the Northeast U.S., to a major producer, servicing
physicians and foot care specialists throughout the United
States and Canada. In addition to custom orthotics and braces,
our product line now includes a wide range of pre-molded
(non-prescription) orthotics as well as diabetic footwear
and insoles.
Custom
Orthotics - (Available by prescription
only) We offer a full line of functional, accommodative,
dress and sport orthotics, as well as specialty products
such as amputee devices and UCB and SMO braces. These are
custom-made devices specifically crafted to meet the needs
of a particular individual. This is done from a casted impression
of the individual's foot and a prescription for recommended
modifications. Our custom orthotics are (prescription)
devices that are available only through a foot care professional.
If you are a foot care professional, please e-mail us for
our custom orthotic catalog. (Physicians

Pre-molded
Orthotics - In an attempt to bridge the gap
between custom orthotics and flimsy store bought rubber
insoles, we recently introduced a full line of pre-molded
(nonprescription) orthotics. Most store bought inserts (also
called insoles) are fabricated from nothing more than different
density cellular sponge and/or foam rubber materials. They
may provide some shock absorption, but little (if any) therapeutic
control and support. If you can bend an insert in half,
it is nothing more than an insole.
Our pre-molded
devices are true (biomechanical) orthotics. They are manufactured
at our custom orthotics facility from many of the same materials
used to fabricate our custom devices. They utilize hi-tech
polymer shells (that never lose shape or memory) for arch
support and biomechanical control and are covered with a
special cellular cushioning material which provides excellent
shock absorption, comfort and protection.
The only major
difference between our custom and pre-molded orthotics is
that we mold our pre-molded orthotics on (standard) wood
arch models by shoe size, as opposed to an exact mold of
an individual's foot. This difference enable us to mass
produce our pre-molded orthotics, and pass the considerable
savings on to you the consumer.
Our pre-molded
devices help control abnormal foot motion, especially excessive
pronation. Over time, this motion (when the arch collapses
too much and the foot rotates too far inward) can lead to
the development of conditions
such as Achilles tendinitis, bunions, heel spurs, metatarsalgia,
Morton's neuroma, plantar fasciitis (heel and arch pain),
post-tib tendinitis, shin splints, tarsal tunnel syndrome,
as well as knee pain (chondromalacia, iliotibial band syndrome),
hip pain and lower back pain. We can make modifications
to these devices if an individual requires more correction
than our standard models provide.
We offer a complete
line of pre-molded orthotics, available for different footwear,
different activities, and different conditions. They are
available in men's full sizes 7-13 and women's full sizes
6-11. If you are a half size, we recommend ordering the
next full size larger. If necessary, full-length top covers
can be trimmed for proper fit.
